Distance Learning & Telemedicine Grant Work Shop to be Held April 19 in Hampton

 Distance Learning Telemedicine WorkShop

USDA Rural Development is seeking applicants for our Distance Learning and Telemedicine program and the SC Promise Zone will be hosting workshop on this exciting opportunity. This program helps rural communities use the unique capabilities of telecommunications to connect to each other and to the world, overcoming the effects of remoteness and low population density. For example, this program can link teachers and medical service providers in one area to students and patients in another. For more information on other programs administered by RUS Telecommunications please visit: http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/all-programs/telecom-programs.

Come join us to learn more about this program from Andrew Hayes who is our regional General Field Representative for Rural Development’s Telecommunication Programs. This workshop will consist of:

  • An overview of the Distance Learning & Telemedicine Grant Program
  • Review of the application process
  • Q&A Session
  • Networking opportunity with other potential applicants
