The Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program supports the development of a diverse workforce of librarians to better meet the changing learning and information needs of the American public. The focus is on enhancing the training and professional development of library and archives professionals, developing faculty and library leaders, and recruiting and educating the next generation of library and archives professionals. The deadline for preliminary proposals is September 27, 2019. This is particularly generous and includes no-match planning grants.

Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation
The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in the communities served by Food Lion stores in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Grants are provided to hunger relief organizations operating within a 20 mile radius of a Food Lion store. The Foundation’s focus is on reducing the number of children at risk of hunger by helping feeding agencies increase their “fresh” capacity so families can put nutritious meals on their tables. Corporation for National and Community Service
The RSVP Competition seeks to promote a diverse range of volunteer activities that serve communities to create measurable impact, benefit volunteers through the service experience, and create community capacity. Specific focus areas include disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. Notices of intent to apply are due August 30, 2019. The application deadline is September 25, 2019.
